I just had to record these unusual couple of hours in San Antonio. We didn't get rain at our house but we did hear thunder. I was in the Costco parking lot and yes I did get some smiles from people passing by as I pulled out my camera.

Monday Morning at the Park and Monday Night in El Segundo!
Mattie Sue said the sweetest prayer before our pizza dinner. Look at both girls eyes and precious look of love and gratitude on their faces. O girls that made my day. Thank you.
Pretending to wait for the bus as we are walking towards the $1.00 Pizza night in downtown El Segundo.
Sister Love.
Mommy love.
Mommy love.
Little out of order but this is Stace and Malyn walking back to the car after a fun morning at the park.
Mom, "Malyn will you turn around so I can get a picture of you and Mattie Sue?"

THIS IS LOVE
Blankies are sometimes the best friends. They know all your tears and they know how to make the hurt go away and they make you warm. Mattie Sue said she likes to snuggle with her blankie the best of all the things one can do with a blankie. Cheryl and Allison do you recognize this? 4 years ago it might have looked like a beautiful blanket and now it looks like a blankie that has had lots of LOVE and lots of SNUGGLES.
Fun pictures
Malyn loves her giraffe outfit in spite of the fact that it's way to tight.
Girls going to bed... each with their blankets
Malyn decides she doesn't want to go to bed. No Nama I don't want to go to bed.
OK this is the coolest car wash. I felt like I was in the year 3000. As we drove into the car wash there are flowers and all sorts of colorful things.

I know this is crazy for a 61 year old taking pictures as she is driving through a car wash. Really, anyone think I need some help.

Day 2 in Cali..
Here's our girl. Resting as much as the girls and I let her. Doesn't she look wonderful?
Jessica O Jessica. The following pictures show what we all thought about this thoughtful gift.
Expressions when the box was opened by Stac, Malyn and Mattie Sue. O what a hard choice we each had to make. so many different kinds of cookies and it came with cold milk in the bucket filled with ice. Yummy. Malyn said, "Milk comes from cows, eggs come from chickens and cookies come from Auntie Jessica"
Boo was thrilled beyond words...
and taught us the "two fisted" eating technique.

California Girls
12:00 Noon. On the way home from airport. We put mom on a blanket and we played in the park. Girls needed some time outside before heading home.
Oops! What is wrong with this picture???
Happiness is sliding down a slide with granddaughters.

and Malyn's head resting on my lap with a Pom Blueberry Latte Tea in hand.
Mattie Sue rolling down the hill. Nope, no Nama rolling down the hill.
While Stacy was resting on the sofa we got a knock on the door and WHAT a Ray of Sunshine was on the other side of it. This brought huge smiles to our faces. Girls were napping and this came at the exact perfect time. Thank you Cindy, you always know exactly what will do the trick!
Someone woke up and was so surprised and had such fun eating her snack a different way. On a stick. What fun!
My job today was taking Sue to her swimming lessons. She is standing to the left posing for Nama.
Sue was pretty excited for me to be there for her lesson. Or was Nama pretty excited to be there for Sue's lesson???
Kicking..
Mattie Sue was trying to explain to the teacher that she was a little frustrated (her word)with two different teachers and also she was allergic (her word) to the water in her eyes and wouldn't be able to put her head under. Just in case this new teacher didn't know.
We were playing music boxes. It's a game and the best gift by the way if anyone needs a good gift. One music box is an old one from when I was little and it doesn't have anything in it except the workings of the sound and when Malyn opened it she said, " Where is the somebody?" meaning the dancing girl.

After the play time and dinner and swim lessons, we had baths snacks, story time and then bed. Well, bed time here takes about three hours so I can still here little pitter patter going on upstairs. I think they are excited for Nama to be here. I'll start the day with cinnamon rolls in the morning and making mommy stay in bed. Hopefully more fun with Nama tomorrow.
PS: Dad (Boo) made homemade ch. chip cookies for Stacy tonight. Yummy.

May / Bennett / Family Reunion and more...
The May/Bennett Family Reunion was once again held at the Methodist church in Gonzales, TX. Both of Chesley's grandparents lived just outside of Gonzales. Grandpa May had a chicken farm and raised thousands of chickens each year.
Chesley, cousin (Carroll) and brother Lamar.
As all small town family reunions there was plenty of food for all....
and dessert.

We played games. This is Chesley's brother laughing at him, part of the game. We played bingo and had a silent auction after the meal.
Jean, my sister in law, Brian and Maureen Roberts, Jim Roberts, brother in law, and Chesley all with their auction items (home made jellies, pickles, and farm fresh eggs). Maureen was the only one at our table to win one of the bingo games.
Gonzales County Jail tour...
This is all of us in front of the jail. Except Jim and me.
Jean and Chesley heading into their cells.
The gallows. Ekkkkksssss. scary.
Pam in cell # 15 peeking through the hole where the food was passed through.
