Honoring My DAD today

Today is for you dad and for all that have served and also have given their lives for our country.

My dad flew P-47 in World War II. Google P-47's, it's a big deal. I will be updating his blog in a month or two with stories and history of his experiences. Good job dad and thank you for defending our country and keeping us all safe. You are our hero!

The Wiggles and Fiesta Texas

The Wiggles Fan Club!
Jessica and Dorothy. Jessica loves this dinosaur because she entertains Ryan each morning on her show, while Jess is getting ready for work.
Martha and Sharla and Abby in the Strawberry Fruit Salad Ride.
Hudson and Mel on the same ride.

Mel, are you rapping to the music?

Ryan wasn't a fan of the Big Red Car. Dad, I don't want a car I want a DVD of the Wiggles. Walker is loving it and wants a car.
Sharla, you are so busted. Really texting while driving, no hands on the wheel and your 2 yr old taking over the driving. You are master at multi tasking.

Here is Ryan, Walker and Hudson dancing to the music of the Wiggles. You go boys! Notice Hudson's hookem sign. click on the next two pictures to make them bigger and see the feet and hands of these boys.

Hudson playing the guitar just like the Wiggles guys. Walker and Ryan are just a dancing.

Meanwhile----Abby is stomping in the puddle.
As the Wiggles came out of the door and the show began the kids turned around and sat on their moms laps.

Bye ya All

Wed. is girls night out/in.

Jenny, Jessica, and I had dinner at Jessica's house. Left overs, and fruit, and ch. chip cookies all with American Idol on and a new game called "Banana's"
As you can see we are all hooked on the game. If you look next to Jessica you'll see Ryan sitting in his chair watching TV. Once we got into the game it was more like, "see ya Ryan" and all concentration was elsewhere. Stacy, you will love it.
Ryan with his new Ming Ming. I put Ming Ming in Ryan's chair and when he saw him he was soooo excited.

Update on Retirement !

Chesley is still enjoying sleeping late, checking his garden and bringing in the harvest, walking the dogs, yard work, "honey do's" and working out at the club. These things are just the break between before retirement and bigger projects or hobbies ahead.
This is not a glass of wine. It's a glass of coke. An experiment! Chesley is going to see if coke will clean off the hard water marks on our wine glasses. Notice the note he left in front of the glass. H wants to make sure no one moves it. It says,"Do not touch" 11:32am. I'll let you know if it works. Not sure what he'll do with the information.
Below is Sunday's harvest of Chesley's chili peppers. This is part of the routine in the morning. He picks the peppers to put in his eggs each morning.
This is also a daily routine, walking the dogs twice a day.

Chesley had a visitor while I was gone!

Coral Poisonous Snake.
Red and Yellow kill a fellow; Red and Black, friendly Jack.
May household, we have a problem! This addition to our wild life zoo around here is the next creature to surface on our property. He or she was in the bushes nest to the front door. Aren't we the lucky ones???
Along with our neighbors, one who cut off the snakes head with long bush cutters, another with a shovel and other onlookers Chesley was able to capture a picture of it. This lovely snake appeared on Mother's Day. Glad I wasn't here!!!!!!!!!!

GEOCACHING

This is how one starts.... Off the Internet... If you want to know more, go to the website to find out. I think I've become a member "want a be" of the secret society.
Don and I in the car following the "decoder" to the Geo-cache on our way back to my moms from my dad's.
Rick, Bear, Silly Sally, and Don. We all went Geo-caching somewhere in my hometown.
Don teaching me the In's and outs of Geo-caching.

Don on his secret decoder, helping me find the cache. Mom and Bev sitting on the bench enjoying the sun that Ohio forgot about. Bev is actually a member and does the hunt pretty well. We even got my mom in on the action.
Kim, this is my first one!!! But I'm not a member yet. I'm only in training.
This is a secret, so don't tell anyone. But you can tell me if you are one!! :) This might be Chesley and my new project to do on our off days or our travel days.

Happy Mother's Day / Birthday

Happy Mother's Day Mom! You are the best! Thanks for being such a wonderful mom.
Mother's Day in Tiffin, Ohio. We meet Don and Bev, (brother and sister in law) half way between our houses and had a great buffet lunch on the river at the Tiffin Inn. (I think that was what it was called).
Happy Birthday to Us. Mom's-April, Sally's (cousin)-May, Pam's - June. Took all three of us to blow one candle out. :)
Yummy Chocolate covered strawberries. There were 6 strawberries and before I even thought about taking a picture I thought about eating them so you see the last two. They were the best. Thanks Jessica and Stacy. So thoughtful. Grandma and I were so surprised and happy. They produced smiles on our faces the rest of the day.
(stay tuned for the next blog all about Geo Caching).

Trains, Tulips, and Trips (to get rid of stuff)

As we run errands, which are usually dropping off our cleaned out stuff to Goodwill, Library, friends, etc I have my camera and take pictures of random things. Trains and Tulips on this post.
The first two pictures are of the Rail Road Museum in Bellevue. We just drove by and I took a couple of pictures from the car.

One of many trips to the Goodwill. This was old technology day.
Pam shredding, shredding, shredding. Thanks Shirley. I finally gave up the ripping and started putting the shredder to use. It overheated many times but I just called them 10 minute breaks. I'm about to start on the yrs 1998-2003. Finished 1982 - 1997.
Tulips, tulips and more tulips. They are all over Bellevue. I even saw a lone red tulip next to a stop sign.

Belated Birthday gift to a surprised mom. An egg cooker! Just in time. Grandma's old one had just broken. We made the eggs benedict with this.

OHIO

Tradition: When we have time we always like to stop at the 100th Bomb Group Restaurant from the airport. Done-Sat upon my arrival.
The planes out front of the restaurant.
Mom in the Jeep. Notice the name "Chaplain" on the air force Jeep.
This so sort of sad picture.... but it's time and we want my mom to move to Texas. Girls I know this is a tough one you to see.
Eggs Benedict, home made with hollandaise sauce. This was the breakfast for our beginning of a very busy day.
COLD CASE: This is one of the many projects we started to tackle today. Each box is filled with old financial records dating back to 1982. I felt like I was in the TV show each time I went downinto the basement to get another box to go through. The top three on the left are now empty :) Working on the 2nd row 1st box on left. :)
This is the other job we worked on today. Big dent taken out to garage. This is what is left. The back of the picture is my uncle stuff. Come on Uncle Frank, it's all here waiting for you.
This is what I went through and boxed up and took to the garage to distribute to family, goodwill, trash.
This is my mom's new car..... No, this is my mom's boy friends car..... No this really is the car that my mom's neighbor puts in this space that he rents.
