Zihuatanejo

Wedding weekend for Alex and Ben.
We had a lovely evening for the rehearsal dinner at La Escollera. Thank you Wempe Family for a perfect warm and welcoming evening. We all got to know who each other were and how the precious couple was related to each of us.

View from our hotel room in the Aura Del Mar.

Lobby and meeting area.

Our  first dinner on the beach. Coconut shrimp with mango sauce.

Hammocks everywhere. Not comfortable! Not sure if I just didn't get the hang of it or what the trouble was. Guess I needed the bar at both ends to spread out the hammock.

This is just 3/4 of the stairs we had to climb to our room from restaurant and beach/pool. So we got our exercise in and that is good with all we ate. :)

Chesley relaxing on the patio. Reading paper and resting.

Wedding Day!

Beach view, this is where the wedding took place.

Preston (Alex's brother) married she and Ben.
He looks like he is contemplating what to say.

 Ceremony!
Made history, short and sweet and to the point.

Mr. and Mrs. Wempe
Congratulations!

and they will live happily ever after...

Jan./Feb

OHIO

 My dad and me!

The girls came for the weekend to visit with their grandpa. What a memorable fun weekend.

CHEERS!

We asked my dad to try to arrange to have snow while we were there. He came through!!
This is the day the girls left for TX and CA. They made it out just in time.

Don and I heading down to the frozen lake. Yes we still walk in the snow. Throw snowballs, and make snow angels.

MALYN
Malyn came to town with her dad. They visited for 5 days. So fun having grandkids one on one. We had so much fun. I can't begin to put all the pictures in but here are some.
We celebrated Boo's birthday the first night.

Rodeo time so we headed there the next day. Malyn loves owls. See shirt and owl behind her. :)

Rodeo San Antonio
After many barns, animals and food we headed home, tuckered out...

Many activities were taking place during the last few days
Smithsonian Rock and Gem Dig
 a visit to grandma Dotty's

gardening with Poppy. (We discovered Malyn is a gardener. She loved working with him and she did lots of work which she loved doing)

Auntie Jenny is always a favorite visit.
This is Malyn's favorite baby goat. DONKEY! She feed her in Dec. and got to visit her again in Feb.
 A girl and her goat.

Cookies! Yes always making chocolate chip cookies at Nama's house. Much more fun with Malyn helping.

Malyn found a new app that was like the game she plays at Auntie Jessica's house.
Kinectimals! She loves it and so did I. Our girl loves animals and the outdoors. :)

Just relaxing in the best chair in the house. Our job was to spoil our precious granddaughter.
Such a sweet sweet heart she has. I love you so much Malyn!

Back to Auntie Jenny's to spend the night and give the goats their last feeding.
Then movie night and pizza with Auntie Jenny.

Girls are very crafty and so Malyn helped Auntie Jessica and Ryan make the Valentine boxes for school. Here they are showing them off. Always fun times with Auntie Jessica and Ryan.

Malyn and I had movie night with popcorn and late night. Special time. No bed time. We can only last so long before the eyelids just won't stay open anymore. :)

Love time with Auntie Jessica! Orange Leaf is another favorite of ours.

This is Ryan's choice of goodies...

and this is what they both looked like after the bowls were empty!

And the winner of the Best Short Film at the San Antonio Christian Film Festival goes to...
"Useless" Award was accepted by Boo Arnold on behalf of the Useless team.
( Boo was in the film and was up for best actor last year and for anyone's information I think he is the best!

These awards were actually in my house. How fun was that. I even weighed them. Each weighed 10 lbs.
Congratulations Boo, Thanks Malyn for so many wonderful memories, and Auntie Jenny and Auntie Jessica for joining in on the fun.
Poppy and I had the time of our lives.

 MAY FAMILY CHRISTMAS
Grandkids, all grown up, some with families (great grandkids), jobs, upcoming marriages. Lots going on with these precious grandkids.

Great grandkids mixed with grandkids. Few are missing. Hoping to have everyone together next year.

Dirty Girl Mud Run
Jenny and Jessica. Congrats girls. Proud of you.

CA Two of the 5 Arnold's arrived a few days ahead of the rest of them.
Stacy and Eli welcome to Texas!!

Girls and Boo came saturday and guess who was in town to see them?
Santa himself.

Christmas Dinner with adults and

grandkids.

Mattie Sue sang at the school program. What an angle voice she has.

Birthday Party for Samantha Pierce. :)

Cold morning means a snuggie for Maddie.

Eli - marchmellow - walking stick = FUN and beginning of smores.

Feeding the baby goats at Auntie Jenny's home.

The baby goats loved the kids as much as they loved the goats.

Auntie Jenny taking us on a tour of the farm..

Mattie Sue and Malyn got to stay over night with Auntie Jenny after a fun day at the farm. They continued the fun with Pizza for dinner and a movie and some girl fun and talking.

Tootles got a fun dance game that Mattie Sue rock out to. ;)

Jenny's painting for the Christmas season.

Eli and Poppy went to Bass Pro Shop and had a blast.

This is Alex and Ben. They will be married in April. :) Welcome to the family Ben. Loved meeting you over the holidays. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Poppy and I took Eli to ride the train. He has been saying, "Alllll a booooard"

Poppy and Eli played ball in the back yard which is a new thing for the CA boy. No back yards in CA but they sure have great parks. Eli flat out knows how to kick a ball and throw it.

Jenny praying over the Loft gathering table. Jenny talked at church one sunday about the Loft and how is has touched so many people over the  years it has been opened.

A precious picture of the grandchildren praying before dinner at Auntie Jessica's house.
See them holding hands? So sweet.

Christmas Eve. Mattie Sue singing Silent Night. :)

Kids spreading the reindeer food out to help them find the way to our house.

Ryan got two twin beds. Seems like Sammy moved right in the first night. Sweet Ryan of course welcomed him in. We haven't finished decorating the room but getting the beds up and the corner piece that Poppy made was enough for one night.

Nama Dotty got some snuggles from Eli on Christmas Day.

There were so many pictures and I've missed so many and will probably add more later or move things around. Just wanted to post some of these while I can.
