God's Country

Notice the bending rod.

I was in the back of the canoe watching and socking in the beauty and taking pictures.

Three boats with the woman on the back and fishermen on the front and guide in the middle.

The view was just beautiful.

Can't capture it but this is what I've got.

Another bending rod....

?? Not sure. They said they were looking for a ring???

After lunch we continued to catch trout with a dry fly.
More later....

Montana 2010

Big Sky, MT

Welcome to the fly fishing world.

Mattie Sue, Malyn, and Ryan this picture is for you. See the huge stuffed dog under the pool table? He is bigger then all three of you together. :)

First day, cool temps, slight breeze, and Welcoming ourselves to MT.

Day One: Lessons on the manicured lawn next to the place we rented our fishing gear. We really are listening in spite of the fact, I'm taking a picture, Claudia is listening but just not looking,  Dennis is wondering if he should get his camera like me,Chesley is thinking, Cindy is listening, I've been fishing for nearly all my life surely I can do this, Fred, in the orange shirt, already knows how.

All of us practicing on the lawn.

Then Fred took the challenge of trying one of the hardest positions. He did it. Well on land. So if you fall in the river Fred, just float on your back and keep casting...

Walk to the river from our house.

The river behind our house. This is Fred after the lessons and Chesley is down stream and around the corner.
More of the trip tomorrow.
The weather is beautiful and much warmer then we thought but still cool. We are able to relax and read and just look at the beautiful views.

Baby Katie is not a baby anymore! She had a birthday!

After picking Katie up at noon we headed to Lighthouse Cafe for a light lunch. Then to Grandmas house for rest and getting her things settled..While they were doing that, we were getting ready for them to come over to celebrate her birthday...

And we waited. Jenny and Ryan played train station.

then she played with Samuel..

and we are still waiting for the birthday girl...

Then they came. They were having to much fun catching up with each other. Grandma and granddaughter.:)
We are all happy to see my youngest niece and the girls youngest cousin.(no longer a baby)
Nope all grown up and having a great time with Jessica.

Blowing out the candle. If you can click on the picture you'll see Ryan in the back ground with his head in his hands  awaiting a cupcake.

Who's needs a fork when you have two perfectly good hands. As Ryan was eating the cake he asked Katie if she got any presents.

Our entertainment for the evening. Roll up the rugs and ride the ?? up and down the LONG hall way.

Sweet Katie with baby Samuel.

Grandma and her youngest granddaughter. The two of them are having a slumber party tonight. Hope you're having fun girls. We enjoyed your company. See you in the morning.
